Dr. Mrs. Pradeepa Wijetunge

Librarian - University Of Colombo

Dr. Pradeepa Wijetunge is presently designated as the Librarian of University of Colombo and has served in the university library sector for 33 years. Dr. Wijetunge obtained B.A. Special (Honours) degree in Philosophy from University of Peradeniya, Master of Librarianship from University of Wales, UK, Doctor of Philosophy from University of Colombo, Masters in Information Studies (Knowledge Management) from University of Canberra, Australia and Master of Arts (Buddhist Studies) from University of Colombo

She has contributed over 75 publications in LIS education, Knowledge Management, Information Literacy and several other LIS related themes. At present she is also the coordinator of the Consortium of Sri Lankan Academic Libraries (CONSAL). Dr. Wijetunge is a well decorated Information Specialist and has recd. many awards and accolades in her distinguished career.

Dr. Wijetunge’s current research include, the information seeking behavior of undergraduates in social sciences and humanities, the e-resource usage by the university academics and research productivity of universities.
