The opening ceremony of Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired was held on 23rd February 2018 at the Main Library premises.

The Library and the Faculty of Arts jointly organized a Human Library for the newcomers on 22nd of February 2018 at the Main Library, University of Colombo. Experts from different fields shared their knowledge and experience with students.

There was a presentation of prizes for the winners of the raffle draw done to enhance and promote e-resource usage of undergraduates at the Main Library University of Colombo on 18.08.2017 .  

National Conference of the University Librarians Association of Sri Lanka was held on 1st June 2017, at the Library Auditorium, University of Colombo. Felicitation to the  pensioners from the Library , University of Colombo (from 2015- 2017 )  was held on 30th  of May  2017 at the Auditorium of the Main Library.  

Mrs. Chiranthi Wijesundara , Assistant Librarian , University of Colombo was awarded ‘Meikeikai Award’ by the University of Tsukuba , for her contribution to the university and academic achievements ,  international activities and collaborations during past few years It is a lifetime experience for a graduate student at Tsukuba.
