Dr.(Mrs.) M. M. Mashroofa

Dr. Mashroofa obtained her Bachelor of Science with Second class upper division from Eastern University, Sri Lanka, and Rathini Anathamoorthy Memorial Award for the best performance of Biological Science Examination in 1995. She earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Open University of Sri Lanka, Master of Library & Information Science from University of Colombo and Ph.D from Management & Science University, Malaysia. She joined South Eastern University of Sri Lanka as an Assistant Librarian in 2001, and has completed  24 years of service in the university library sector. She served as the Head – Periodical Section, Head – Acquisition Section, Head – Electronic Resources & Information Service and Head- Science Library at Faculty of Applied Sciences. She is coordinating and teaching Information Literacy for two credits at Faculty of Applied Sciences of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka since 2017 onwards. She is a Fellow Member of Sri Lanka Library Association, and a Standing Committee Member of Digital Humanities and Digital Scholarship, Special Interest Group of International Federation of Library Associations & Institutions (IFLA). She serves for NILIS, University of Colombo as a Visiting Lecturer. She has been serving as a resource person for Management Development & Training Board of Eastern Province,  National Library & Documentation Services Board and Sri Lanka Library Association.  She underwent many overseas training programmes at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, NISCAIR, New Delhi, Beijinh China and USA.  As a researcher/author of LIS she has published 02 books, 30 research papers a few chapters of books and feature articles.
