Fellowship Awarded to Join Regional Leadership Programme at the National University of Singapore
Dr. Chiranthi Wijesundara, Senior Assistant Librarian representing the University of Colombo, was awarded a prestigious fellowship to participate in the Transforming University Libraries: Leadership & Innovation Programme (TULLIP), held at the National University of Singapore (NUS) from 30th June to 4th July 2025.
Organized by NUS Libraries, this esteemed programme brought together 27 library professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region to explore strategic leadership, innovation, and the evolving role of academic libraries. The fellowship was awarded to 12 participants representing countries including Bhutan, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Brunei, the Philippines, and Singapore, making it a dynamic platform for international
collaboration and idea exchange.
TULLIP is designed to bridge the gap between library professionals in the ASEAN region and beyond, equipping them with the skills and competencies necessary to support institutional success. The programme also fosters the development of a strong professional network within the wider academic community.
Throughout the intensive sessions, participants engaged deeply with key areas such as transformative library services, adoption of emerging technologies, and management of data- driven information systems. The programme offered a valuable space for sharing best practices, cultivating global partnerships, and envisioning the future of academic librarianship.
The University of Colombo acknowledges this achievement as a valuable step toward strengthening international academic partnerships and fostering leadership in academic libraries.
