The Orientation and Library Visit for Arts Undergraduates

The Library Orientation Programme for newly enrolled Arts undergraduates (2024/25 batch) was held on 3rd June 2025. It aimed to introduce students to the library’s resources and services. Ms. Samanlatha Menike Adhikari, Senior Assistant Librarian (Arts and Reader Services), presented an introduction to the Library during the Faculty’s main inaugural session.

Following the orientation programme, a guided library tour was conducted, providing students with the opportunity to engage in conversations with senior university academics. Around 800 students participated, divided into small groups, and interacted with 40 senior academics. The event was collaboratively organised by the Main Library and the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo.
