Two-day workshop on “New Trends of the University Libraries”

The Main Library of the University of Colombo conducted a successful two-day workshop on “New Trends of the University Libraries” from 24th to 25th February 2020, for its staff. Some session of this workshop was conducted by invited speakers. Dr. C.C. Jayasundara (Librarian/ University of Kelaniya), Dr. N.D. Wijayasundera (Librarian/ University of Sri Jayewardenepura), spoke on new trends in the university libraries while Dr. M.T.M. Mahees (Senior Lecturer, Department of Sociology, UoC) spoke about the human aspects of the professionalism. Mrs. Anoma Rathnayake and Mrs. Dilini Perera (Senior Assistant Registrars / Non- Academic Establishments) of University of Colombo, made enlightening presentations and Q&A session on university leave regulations. In addition, some of the senior staff of the Library also presented several new developments. The two day session also provided ample opportunity for discussions on various issues related to the library. It was a unique experience for all since it is the first time that all staff categories of the library attended common interactive session.
