Event 05 – Thought Tree

In celebration of Literary Month, the Library of the University of Colombo introduced an inspiring initiative titled “Thought Tree”, designed to encourage creativity and self-expression among library users.

The Thought Tree was ceremonially opened on 18th September 2025 at the Learning Commons area, located on the ground floor of the Main Library. This creative platform invites students and staff to share their reflections, ideas, and literary thoughts, symbolically “planting” them on the tree for others to read and enjoy.

The initiative aims to foster a culture of reading, writing, and idea sharing within the university community, making the library not only a place for learning but also a space for inspiration and creativity.
